Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances Sinkowitsch, Estee Mandel-Steigman and Maritza De Quesada.
Our team has been involved in the Miami art world for many years working with different instrumental personalities that helped shape the cultural movement in South Florida. Our founder, Frances Sinkowitsch got the itch to fly solo and decided to launch Mitte Projects. The concept of Mitte Projects was born out of a strive to create exhibitions that stir away from the “white box” by exploring and experimenting in unexpected locations. Soon thereafter, Maritza De Quesada and Estee Mandel-Steigman joined the team. Our diverse expertise in the field has made a strong and dynamic trio.
Has it been a smooth road?
Our projects are nomadic, so they involve a lot of legwork, permits, etc. for exhibitions lasting up to one week. We have to make things happen quickly from set-up to sales. It is a bit of an Art Boot Camp! Which also makes our team stronger and ready for any obstacles down the road. We analyze and make changes where needed to elevate the next experience. Last year we had the opportunity to do a show at the former Rubell Collection space in collaboration with the stellar team of Wynwood Art + Events. It was a super exciting and dynamic collaboration as the exhibition intertwined with their high-end events exposing the artists to all kinds of audiences. We can’t wait to reveal our next project!

We are a team of three women, we are full-time moms and full-time professionals. Frances Sinkowitsch is our curator and creative director, Estee Mandel-Steigman is in charge of client liaison and all philanthropic aspects, and Maritza De Quesada is our art director, project manager and CFO. We run a nomadic art project space dedicated to promoting the works of local and international artists with a focus on emerging talent while also dealing with secondary market. We offer personalized art advisory catering to each collector’s individual needs. A passion for art and the art business makes us excel and provide clients with the best acquisition experience. We are proud to be a window to the world for emerging artists who sometimes find many obstacles in finding representation.
Our last exhibition titled “Play Me” included 36 local and international artists and it was based on the feeling music gives you and the relationship between music and art. Our current exhibition “Welcome To Paradise” encompasses a blissful selection of works that activate your senses; bursts of bright colors, optical illusions, paradisal imagery, surfaces that mimic nature and the cosmos, and ethereal creatures. We are thrilled to be showing for the first time ever the collaborative works of artists/actors Yul Vázquez and Jordi Mollá; with a series of mixed media works they have created since they met on the set of Bad Boys II. Due to the pandemic the show is to be seen online or by appointment. The show also includes 32 international artists; the catalog can be found on our website.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We are thrilled to be part of the Miami Art Scene. Since Art Basel launched its first edition in 2002, it has been a catalyst for the cultural aspect of the city. Miami has become a destination point for art collectors looking for new talent and escaping to a tropical paradise. Also, Miami is a key spot for individuals looking to invest in a second home-many come from Europe and South America looking for the eternal summer. This is an asset for us, as art enriches and adds personality to these homes. So yes! We definitely think Miami is a hot location for opening an art-related business.
